Monday Night at the Vertical City Cantina: Episode 5

Monday Night at the Vertical City Cantina: Episode 5  weekly recap.

For a taste of something different I started off this week with my Jedi Sage, this character is level 55 so we get to see something a bit different.  I decided to do a lvl 55 Hard Mode flashpoint.  For those who don’t know a flashpoint is a simply a dungeon, typically completed with 4 individuals assuming specific roles.  Usually you have (1) Tank, (2) DPS, and (1) Healer as the make up of your group, though there are some new flashpoint areas which will allow any composition of roles to join.

I used the Group finder, which randomly groups people up for a range of activities, with my preferred DPS role selected.  After a short wait I get asked if I wish to join other players to do the “Streets of Cademimu” flashpoint.  This one is pretty easy, and luckily one I’ve done a few times before, so being with a random group at least I know my role.  This is honestly the only real downside to random grouping, you occasionally wind up with people who have no experience with the flashpoint or operation.  Luckily I was grouped with 3 members from a guild, who obviously had run this before making it quite the easy trip.

I can’t stress how beneficial the group finder is, everyone isn’t fortunate enough to get in with a guild that has enough people with the right roles to run Ops and Flashpoints, and doing this is the easiest way to gear up for High Level Content.   You still see plenty of people spamming out in General chat on fleet looking for people, but group finder is still the best way to get going.

After completing the Flashpoint we pick back up with the Republic Trooper, and continue on his mission to recover the ZR-57 Orbital Strike Bomb from the Mantellian Separatists.   After uncovering some corruption, and learning the where the Separatists have taken the bomb, I decide to call it a night just before we enter the Separatist stronghold, this area simply takes too long to complete for the time I had left.

Next week we’ll pick up again with our Imperial Sniper, or possibly have another excursion with a high level character, tune in to find out.
