It’s that wonderful time of the year where we, the gamers and streamers of the world get together for a tremendously good cause. The charity that Awesome Games Done Quick (AGDQ) are supporting this year is the Prevent Cancer Foundation.
The mission of the Prevent Cancer Foundation is saving lives through cancer prevention and early detection across all populations. Their vision is to “Stop Cancer Before it Starts”! The Prevent Cancer Foundation is the only U.S. nonprofit organization solely devoted to cancer prevention and early detection. They have invested over $138 million in research, education, advocacy and community outreach programs over the past 30 years.
What is Awesome Games Done Quick?
Games Done Quick is a bi-annual charity gaming marathon. Volunteers play games at incredible speed (“Speedrunning”) for entertainment. The event is streamed live online, non-stop, and all donations go directly to the charity. This is our winter event, and we have a summer event around the beginning of July.
What games are being played?
Everything from Kirby to Darksiders 2. Everything goes for this wonderful charity event, and I’d recommend you checking out the schedule down below to see if your favorite game is being played!
