Bringing An Added Dimension to Table Top Gaming

Usually the only three dimensional objects used within a table top game are miniatures and the dice; perhaps an occasional M&M rolling in the way of the drawn map on a sheet of paper or special mat. Normally, a Dungeon Master (DM) would either think up scenarios or use a pre-made one from a genre guide book. This is how a game is normally formulated however, Inkwell Ideas are changing this by adding a bit of originality into table top gaming; bringing it more to life in front of everyone’s eyes rather than just in everyone’s imagination.

Inkwell Ideas is a group based in Ashburn, Virginia and have made a handful of tools that would enhance the gaming experience. There’s more than these three but these are the highlights that would help people who want to get into table top gaming and especially start DMing.

  1. Encounter Card Decks: This comes in two decks with 56 mini adventures in each deck. These cards actually help someone bring the idea of a plot, random dungeon bashing, gold, and traps.
  2. Citymorph Software: This savvy software helps people create towns with a lot of details; taking the weight of trying to create a world off their shoulders. It even helps create inventory and their prices!
  3. DungeonMorph: These are five six sided dice (D6) with pictures on them where the DM can create a random yet unique map of a town or dungeon and either have it right there while playing or it could be used as a tool to pre-make a dungeon or town and draw it out; that is if the DM doesn’t like using the Citymorph!

Currently, DungeonMorph is a Kickstarter project that needs help to be realized but all their projects can be found on their store website but their normal website filled with loads of information is here. For those looking to get into the old school gaming, Inkwell Idea’s inventory of tools will definitely help kickstart the journey into those dangerous dungeons!
