Dragon Ball Xenoverse Shakes Up the Series

The upcoming installment in Dragon Ball video games is going to shake up the monotony of the series. As usual, you play as the characters from the Dragon Ball series, fighting each other with martial arts and energy attacks. Usually the games follow the plot of the show, but this time the Dragon Ball timeline is going to be changed.

Two new antagonists have been introduced: Towa and Mira. These villains have been upsetting the natural timeline of the Dragon Ball universe. Remember the episode where Goku holds back Raditz while Piccolo shoots them both? Apparently, our new villains have altered history so that Raditz breaks free just in time to miss Piccolo’s attack. This causes Future Trunks to seek help in order to defeat Towa and Mira and fix the timeline.

Oh and that “help” that Future Trunks is seeking? That’s you. A player created character. You can choose to be a Saiyan, Namekian or Majin and customize your features. Not only can you create your own Dragon Ball character, but who you choose to train you, like Goku or Vegeta, will affect the story of the game.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse plays like other titles in this fighting series. However, it also adds an interesting twist to the plot while giving gamers something they love: character creation. It will be coming to Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PC March 2015.
