There are plenty of independent gaming websites where people can either play, buy, or both through whatever website. Hidden away behind a bigger site such as GameLockΒ is a website called GameCupid. Currently, it’s in Beta (as it states on its home page) but their idea of rewarding their customers is a good one; especially since they’re having a massive giveaway!

GameCupid is having its 6th week-long game giveaway with over 50 + Steam games. Games including DayZ, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, and Risen 3. So how are they able to do this? The site itself is an intelligent game recommendation engine that promises to offer truly unique recommendations to the customer. The website’s community is growing rapidly and they are sharing their knowledge to the site by tagging features to video games. There are thousands of titles that have been tagged; bring a massive variety to the current customers as well as prospective ones.

Currently, there are games such as:

  • The Binding of Isaac
  • Organ Trail: Director’s Cut
  • Transistor
  • South Park: The Stick of Truth
  • The Sims 4
  • Thief
  • Far Cry 3
  • Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor

and more up for grabs on GameCupid.

The Giveaway details:

The contest begins at 09:00 Central Standard Time (CST) on Wednesday, 5th November 2014 and finishes at 09:00 CST on Wednesday, 12th November 2014.

So how does this contest work?

Contributors earn coins as they tag features to the games that they know and they can then redeem the coins and choose from over 50 + Steam titles to download and enjoy.

Forget the pub quiz nights and get rewarded for knowing about games with more games!

So cool. Have you used this before? It's a first-heard for me!

No, I haven't used it before. It was a blurb on Game Press. I tried it myself but it seems all so technical rather than functional.. so yeah, it needs some work done to it to be more "user friendly" but their concept isn't a bad one πŸ™‚
