Nintendo Goes Mobile And Announces New Hardware

Nintendo has announced their new partnership with Japanese mobile company DeNA to bring original games based on existing IP to the mobile market.

Both companies will be developing original games for based on the wide range of IP Nintendo have to offer. Existing games for the WiiU and 3DS platforms will not be ported.

There will also be a new online membership service that will be available to mobile devices, PC’s and Nintendo platforms.

Nintendo have also revealed they are working on a new “dedicated game system” codenamed NX. Nintendo described NX as a “new hardware system with a brand-new concept”.

Nintendo’s President Satoru Iwata has said “As proof that Nintendo maintains strong enthusiasm for the dedicated game system business, let me confirm that Nintendo is currently developing a dedicated game platform with a brand-new concept under the development codename ‘NX’, It is too early to elaborate on the details of this project, but we hope to share more information with you next year.”
