Playstation Remote Play Comes to the Play Store

Attention all Playstation gamers, it is now possible to play games through a smartphone for some Playstation 4 games.

Sounds great right? Well here are the details:

Remote Play is a new feature that Sony rolled out earlier this year at the IFA Trade Show that took place in Berlin. This feature allows people to pair compatible smartphones or tablets with the Playstation 4 and play console games directly on mobile devices. The fun part is that the Playstation 4 controller can be used by attaching it to the phone or tablet with the use of a special mount which is provided by Sony. Other than that, people will need the Remote Access application which has now been made available through the Google Play Store.

The Sony Xperia Z3, Z3 Compact and Z3 Tablet are all compatible with the Remote Play. Sony says that the Xperia Z2 and X2 Tablet will receive support eventually. A full list of compatible devices will be available soon.

A cautionary note: Remote Play will only work if the firmware has been updated to 2.0 Also, as interesting as this sounds, the Playstation 4 Remote Play has another restriction: the feature will only work as intended if the person is using their home Wi-Fi network as Sony says that public networks will not be supported by certain games. For the most part, Remote Play will be useful if someone wants to play on their Playstation 4 when someone else wants to watch TV.

Remote game on!
