Ryse: Son of Rome Hits PC in October 2014

Ryse: Son of Rome will be released for PC on October 10, 2014.

Pre-orders of the PC version of Ryse will include the soundtrack to the game, featuring 25 tracks and over 50 minutes of original music, as well as bonus material originally released as downloadable content.

Ryse: Son of Rome was developed by Crytek. It was originally released for the Xbox One on the 28th August 2014. Players were thrown into the Roman Empire, playing as the embodiment of a Roman soldier, Marius Titus.  Witnessing the murder of his family at the hands of barbarian bandits, he sought revenge. Travelling with the Roman army to Britannia to prove himself as a soldier, he rose quickly in the ranks, but finds that his quest returns him back to the heart of Rome.

The game, originally build for Xbox One, boasted higher definition graphics for the close combat fights. It also has individual artificial intelligence, controlling the non playable characters during battle.  The player can also interact with non player characters when gathering information.

Ryse received reasonably positive reviews in its Xbox One iteration, with many praising the graphics and the new direction Crytek was taking with the series, but many felt that the controls left something to be desired.

Ryse: Son of Rome is available for pre-order, and will retail for $39.99 (€39.99/£34.99).
