Snap, Crackle ‘n Pop. The latest episode of Dark Matter was the sexiest episode thus far, at least suggestively anyway. Brace yourself, because Dark Matter definitely went there this week. The Raza crew finally gained access to the secret room, we found out Three isn’t a jerk ass after all, and One and Two finally hooked up on “Episode 7” of Dark Matter. Spoiler alert.
Snap. Ever since The Raza crew woke up from stasis, they have been trying to figure out two things: How they all ended up on the ship and what is in the secret room? This week on Dark Matter, the crew got a little closer to finding out what’s in the secret room, and what a shocker that was. Among the many finds, they discovered a service android (named Wendy), who was programmed as an entertainment model. What exactly does that mean? Well, it means her many talents revolved around entertainment, including exceptional culinary skills, singing in multiple languages and possessing a skill called “dunking the cosmic doughnut,” among other sexual acts. Hey, I’m just the messenger.
All was fine and dandy with Wendy until her subprogram activated, turning Wendy into a mercenary for a guy named Cyrus King. As Six hilariously reminded us, they had no clue who Cyrus King was—because of the memory loss thing—but that didn’t diminish the fact that they needed to kill Wendy before she accomplished doing the same to them as her program dictated. Unfortunately, before they could take her out, Wendy was able to cause a considerable amount of damage to the ship and crew, including fatally shooting the Android. Poor Android.
Crackle. Just when you think you’ve got someone figured out, it turns out you don’t. Of course, I’m referring to the jerk ass, Three, who as it turns out isn’t a jerk ass after all. This week, the Dark Matter writers decided to put surface cracks in our entire perception of Three, ergo crackle, and surprisingly it was quite nice.
According to Sarah—the woman that the crew discovered in a stasis pod in the secret room—Marcus (Three) was quite the doting boyfriend when she knew him on her planet. After finding him and nursing him back to health, he ended up sticking around because he didn’t have the heart to leave her once he learned that she was terminally ill. Yep, I’m still talking about Three. The funny thing is, it doesn’t really seem that farfetched when you think about it because Three—I mean Marcus—ended up demonstrating similar characteristics by stepping up to ensure Sarah’s safety when the crew was being attacked by Wendy. And that was despite having no memory of his feelings for her or interacting with her. Remember, since we’ve known Three he’s never cared about anyone but himself. That’s why he was the resident jerk ass. Like I said, the writers totally put surface cracks in our perception of Three and it was all good.
Pop. This week’s cliffhanger on Dark Matter revolved around everyone’s favorite potential couple: One and Two. Though things started out pretty sketchy between them at the beginning of “Episode 7,” by the end the outlook was considerably different, and what a pop it was. It’s amazing how much a little jealously can spark feelings of passion, at least if you’re like Two anyway.
It all started when One just so happened to walk into Two’s room for a “status update” as she was just stepping out of the shower. And though she wasn’t shy about One seeing her naked, his good guy tendencies took hold, preventing him from acting on his real feelings for her. Unless, of course, you count the attempted kiss, which he was once again denied. Wow, Two is really a tease! Or is she? Like I said, by the end of the episode the dynamic between One and Two was decidedly on a new trajectory.
After experiencing some feelings of jealously, thanks to the service android’s doings, Two decided to make her move on One. Oh how the tables had turned by the end of “Episode 7.” This time it was Two who came to One—who mind you had just gotten out of the shower—requesting a “status update.” One initially tried to deny Two’s advances, but who was he kidding, he’s got it bad for her and truth be told she’s got it bad for him too. Once Two went to close the door to One’s room, well, it was clear that she wasn’t taking no for an answer. And boom goes the dynamite. What does their hook up mean? Are they “together” now? Who knows, but my guess is probably not. In all likeliness this will play out just like the past six episodes of Dark Matter. Two will probably go back to her cat-and-mouse game, completely downplaying their hook up, which will inevitably devastate poor One. And the drama continues…
Dark Matter airs Friday nights at 10:00pm EST on Syfy.
