Grimm: Double Date

What a real slim ball! The latest episode of Grimm was quite a mess, and I’m not just talking about the wesen. Not only was the freak of the week a slithery and creepy spectacle that also happened to be a hermaphrodite, but the continuous unfolding of the subplots of Adalind’s baby drama—part deux—and Nick’s drama with his now hexenbeist girlfriend Juliette is building up to something quite convoluted and disturbing….yet entertaining. It was just another week in Portland on Grimm: Double Date. Spoiler alert!

Huntha Lami Muuaji

NickIt’s a man. No, it’s a woman. No, it’s a worm! Don’t you just love the names that they come up with for the wesen from week to week? This week, a slimy con artist who just happened to be a wormy wesen that secret a flesh eating enzyme onto its victims took center stage. Thought to have traveled in pairs, come to find out it was actually a hermaphrodite working a con. Unfortunately for Detective Burkhardt and Detective Griffin, they didn’t realize this until after a failed attempt to capture the dangerous duo. That’s when things really got slimy—get it?

Of course the Grimm of all people would figure things out first, so it was no surprise when Nick suggested that they were really only looking for one wesen. You see, although the female half would go out to bars to hook a victim with a sad tale about her non-existent husband, once she got the victim to her hotel room she would then disappear so that the male half of the wesen known as huntha lami muuaji would then emerge to rob the victims of their cell phones and cash. Luckily, Nick knows Rosalee and Monroe, who just so happened to know how to concoct a potion that could be injected into the wesen using darts. Doing so essentially allowed for the permanent transformation of the hermaphrodite into the male side only so that Nick could make an arrest. What a slithery mess!

Adalind is Pregnant…Again

Adalind

Last week, in the cliffhanger, we learned from hexenbeist guru Henrietta that Adalind was pregnant again. This time however, Adalind is pregnant for Nick—her arch nemesis—whom she slept with at the end of season four after taking on Juliette’s form in order to seduce Nick and take away his Grimm abilities. Keep in mind that was due large in part to the fact that she wanted to retaliate against Nick for taking her hexenbeist abilities prior to that. Whew, Adalind and Nick sure hook up a lot to say they can’t stand each other, right?

That was about a month or two ago. Fast forward to present day and Adalind finds out that she is pregnant yet again, but her reaction is priceless. After taking several pregnancy tests, she looks in the mirror and screams: “I can’t be pregnant again; I still can’t find the first one!” This couldn’t have happened to a more deserving biest—get it, because she’s a hexenbeist—don’t you think?

Grimm airs Friday nights on NBC at 8:00pm EST/7:00pm CST.
