Disney Infinity is a game that is still played daily in my house. With a 4 year old that has found a complete and deep love of all things Disney, the game is rarely far from her “I want to…” list. I’ve also introduced her to some Marvel characters, of which Spider-Man and Hulk are her favorites. So the more news we get on Disney Infinity 2.0 the more excited she, and I get. I still play with her a great deal. Infinity 1.0 was a fantastic release that has entertained us to this day. It was a bit limiting though, but it seems that some of those issues are soon to be pushed to the side. With Infinity 2.0 the toy box is more robust than ever.
Builders, to me, are the biggest new addition to the sandbox mode as they assist you a great deal in building new levels. This will likely be used more by my daughter than by me, but the fact that you can quickly build something is fantastic.
The fact that games can have starts and finishes, text editing, multi-level games, challenges are easier than ever to create from the look of it. Two game disks come with the starter pack, one of which has been teases to be a tower defense style game.
All 1.0 characters and worlds carry over. In addition, and likely the biggest one for many players, is that the ability to build interiors is now included. This means, with the inclusion of Villains, you can build bases for Heroes and Villains and create full PvP recreations of scenes from movies, comic books or… the famous… Marvel… TV shows?
The trailer shows of a good deal, so check that out. Disney Infinity 2.0 will release Sept. 23rd for Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U and PC (though it may not be the full release similar to 1.0). The Collector’s Edition with the timed-exclusive Hulk will retail for $180 and be exclusive to PS4.
