Ever wanted to try a Science Fiction version of Rust or Minecraft? Empyrion just may help scratch that itch.
Usually, Science Fiction games includes shooting aliens, flying in ships, and coming across unusual minerals with usual types of scenarios. Empyrion tries to take the genre to another level.
Empyrion is a 3D open world, space survival adventure where players can fly across space and land on planets. Build, explore, fight, and survive in a hostile galaxy full of hidden treasures and dangers.
Empyrion focuses on space & planetary exploration, where you mine for resources, craft items and construct things to help you survive both in space and on the ground through battles and peaceful exploration alike.
The game is built on the Unity 3D engine and uniquely combines elements from space simulations, construction games, survival games, and ego shooters. It’s currently in development by Eleon Games Studios.
Empyrion has endless space, asteriods, planets, and fierce enemies. The game is about building and surviving in this hostile galaxy. Players can build everything out of blocks and building parts similar to Minecraft. The player’s home base is a self created star ship that is able to fly from planet to planet and even has warp drive to go to other solar systems.
Empyrion will be available as an Alpha version on Steam in February 2015, and the creators state that, due to the game being built on the Unity 3D Engine, future ports to consoles may be available.
