The Good, The Bad, The Plays:
Hello everyone. As it is highly likely that any person reading this has been playing the game for longer than a week or two, you will notice the new patches in this and future commentary videos. We take on the role of jungle today with the new shaper Faris, a mobile burst assassin type shaper.
Disclaimer: This loadout I’m running currently is because I haven’t gone through and tweaked everything just yet to the manner in which I want it. I have since improved the loadouts a bit so if they don’t look too efficient please remember this is my third match since the patch was put in. No grinding has been completed.
So let’s get into some action and thoughts. Unfortunately since this was my first match running this shaper in the jungle, there aren’t a large number of good plays to speak of. There are a few fails to couple with the few good plays that consist mostly of not jumping over walls well or something like that.
That being said, we can still go over what went right and what went wrong. First things first, the wrongs. I discovered after talking to some friends and playing a few more matches I was making a huge mistake leveling his first spell instead of his second or third immediately. You can actually clear the jungle quicker and provide a lot more ability to kill on ganks if you do so.
We also went for a bit more of a wave clearing build in our item choice. Ideally, you would be able to build a destruction and a conquest or some other assassin like item and be a real menace in the jungle.
Final thoughts on the new shaper being ran through the jungle? Faris has a ton of potential the same a jungle Freia or jungle Kindra does. He can show up and drop an enemy quickly, assuming you farm well and have a good amount of CC in lane to help with ganks.
When it comes to lanes that has no CC though, he feels a bit lacking if you can’t snowball early. Sorry again there wasn’t a bit more content for this particular game. We will run another game with Faris when we have a bit more experience. Hope you guys enjoyed.
