A small Canadian company called Parabole has created a game called Kôna, for use with the Oculus Rift.
The story is set in the 1970’s, located in northern Quebec. The protagonist, Carl Faubert, is a private detective. Charged with dealing with vandalism on a rich industrialist’s summer house, he arrives at the estate only to find that the area is completely deserted.
To get to the bottom of what’s going on, the player has to solve puzzles, drive vehicles, and survive the cold winter of Northern Quebec.
The project was succcesfully funded on Kickstarter two days ago. Stretch goals are still obtainable via Paypal pre-orders, and include full body awareness features, alongside porting the game to the Xbox One and Playstation 4. If reached, the development team will also make the game compatable with Project Morpheous, Sony’s own VR kit.
Kôna will consist of four episodes, the first of which will arrive in April 2015. The game has already been greenlit on Steam.
