Ever since 2013 we’ve heard about Rockstar coming out with another Grand Theft Auto. This time, you’d play four characters (the three in story mode and your own). This sounded awesome, and not only that but they boasted that there was going to be heists online.
The game came out and the story missions were fun and frustrating at the same time. Online too came, but no heists appeared.. Then the downloadable content (DLC)’s came out and with each new one people were hoping for heists. Yet nothing was said about it from Rockstar Games’ camp.
A year went by. The next-gen releases were let loose. Now Rockstar Games has shared, in an interview with IGN, that the over awaited heists will be arriving in “early” 2015. Rockstar Games said: “After many months of designing, testing, rewriting and re-testing, we settled on the four-player structure that you will experience in the game. It took a ton of work from our programmers and mission designers to make it work at the level we were happy with.”
So what can hardcore Grand Theft Auto V players expect with heists coming next year? The missions for the heist(s) to come into fruition will require four people and one of them will have to have one of the high end apartments with the planning room. The one with the planning room will automatically be the leader. Each player has to be level 12 or higher, there will be missions that will be to actually help the players pull of their heist. When a job becomes available, the leader will get the information, assign people their positions within the heist crew, and everything goes from there. The leader unfortunately has to front (i.e. pay) for the heist to even be funded. The crew members will be paid after each prep mission but the leader will get their cut when the finale is a success.
Rockstar Games want people to switch between positions to see what its like at every single type of position; including leader. Some missions will require the whole team to work together whilst other missions may require someone to infiltrate a police station, acquire the getaway vehicle, hacking, or even crowd control.
There will be five unique heists with smaller missions leading up to them, making a total of over 20 missions. If all five heists are played with the same group of people until the end, there will be a big cash reward and even Elite Bonus Challenges.
Along with the heists finally coming to online game play in early 2015, Rockstar Games have also included new vehicles, weapons, clothing, and much more.
To hold everyone over until this comes in early 2015, here is the heist trailer from IGN.
