Recently at Gamescom, Digital Extremes announced Archwing, a brand new game mode for their highly popular title Warframe, coming in their next update.
Warframe is a highly polished free to play shooter from Digital Extremes. It features fast paced co-op third person combat, set in a futuristic sci-fi world. Players must pick up their weapons as ancient warriors, fighting for survival as a malevolent faction known as the Grineer attempt to wipe your people from existence. Players work together searching for powerful artifacts to aid in the war effort. Along the way users unlock updates for their Tenno suit, an ancient combat armor only the Tenno can manipulate.
Archwing is, in a nutshell, an armor update which allows players to spawn wings, allowing them to become a death machine flying throughout the vast reaches of space. While it is a seemingly small addition, it creates new opportunities for combat and storytelling.
Warframe, along with the newly announced Archwing game mode will be coming to Xbox One September 2nd, and is available now for PC and PlayStation 4.
