This morning, GRIN (currently best known in the gaming world for developing the PC Versions of the Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter Series) unveiled a new behind-the-scenes trailer for their latest project, Woolfe: The Red Hood Diaries. The video (featured below) Delves into the games origins and how aspiring developer Davy Penasse applied for a job at the company and failed, but still impressed GRIN’S higher-ups anyway with demo footage that would eventually become the foundation for the game.
From the looks of things, Woolfe is sporting gorgeous graphics, side-scrolling gameplay that looks to be in the veins of Trine and a story that sees Little Red Riding Hood on a Kill Bill-style, blood-thirsty quest for revenge against the now very corporate Big Bad Wolf. A Kickstarter campaign has also begun for the game, and according to a press release sent out this morning:
GRIN has also Launched a Kickstarter Campaign for Woolfe: The Red Hood Diaries to help the small indie studio take the game to the next level. The core gameplay is already in place, but additional funding will help GRIN add new features and mechanics, including magical powers for Red that would compliment her current melee combat abilities. Among the many rewards on offer, backers will be able to customize their own Toy Soldier, part of the robot army employed by B.B. Woolfe to enforce his iron rule. The Woolfe: The Red Hood Diaries Kickstarter campaign has a funding target of $50,000 and will run until September 4th, 2014.
Wolfe: The Red Hood chronicles is set for a downloadable release on PC, PS4, and Xbox One in 2015. You can get involved in the Kickstarter Campaign right now. The game will also be at Gamescom in Germany from August 13-17, where:
To celebrate the first public playtest of the early build of Woolfe: The Red Hood Diaries, Grin will be running a “High Score Challenge”, with the top scorers having a chance at winning limited edition Woolfe Gamescom prizes. Cosplayers are also encouraged to turn up as Red Riding Hood and have their pictures taken at the GRIN photo booth, with the best being shared through the Woolfe: The Red Hood Diaries community channels.
