Twentieth Century Fox has given a release date (Feb. 12, 2016) to the long-awaited Deadpool movie. While Ryan Reynolds (Green Lantern, Buried) has been strongly rumored to star, it’s confirmed that Tim Miller (visual effects of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World and director/producer of various short films) will be directing the upcoming film. It also looks rather likely to be an R-rated film.
It’s been a little over a month now since test footage of the movie leaked (NSFW, scroll down) which Reynolds was reported to say was “unfortunate” in a recent interview. However, he added “But who cares? The movie has been in a state of limbo for a while. There was such an overpowering reaction to the footage, you sort of feel like, ‘Oh, so we weren’t crazy for our reasons for loving this character, for loving this role.’ It’s interesting to see the power of the Internet. It’s awe-inspiring, actually.”
I don’t know about all of you, but as far as best movie quotes of 2014 are concerned, “I hope the bad guys are wearing their brown pants,” currently takes the proverbial cake for me.
