Thar She Blows

The whales or Purrgills quickly interrupt plans playing bumper cars with with the Ghost. Intuition from Ezra changes their fortune when he tells Hera to play along with them. Ezra reaches out his mind to the largest one when he notices it is becoming upset. Yellow tie fighters are the cause though they aren’t Imperial but rather security from the Refinery. Hera seems to be the only one opposed but they follow the Purrgills after Sabine confirms Ezra’s feeling. Rationing their power, Hera leads the Ghost in undetected using asteroids and the Purrgills as cover. Kanan, Ezra and Sabine go for a free fall jump towards the platform. The secret mission quickly goes awry when Ezra has some force issues and Kanan is forced to catch him before he falls to his death. The catch though gives them a way and they are soon under fire. Ezra boycotts the idea of setting up an explosion to prevent the Purgills from being hurt. Ezra has some type of weird connection with the creature that eats fuel. He forgets to provide cover fire for for Sabine and Kanan which leaves him vulnerable and apparently falling to his death

Successful Mission

Kanan goes all Jedi saving the ship from being blown up only to notice Ezra has disappeared. Choking on the fumes he manages somehow to commune or maybe the beast communes with him the help he needs. There is a sea of the Purrgills floating in the gas and his helmet is returned and with it a fleet of Purrgills to take on the miners. The gang manages to get all the required fuel and makes a hasty getaway as the Purrgills show their displeasure with the remaining miners.

A farewell and Ezra reunites with the rest of the grew as they watch the Purrgills amazingly jump to hyperspace proving the myths true. A fun episode that introduced a new creature to Star Wars lore but little to progress the overall Rebels story. The fuel will obviously come in handy but other than Ezra showing the ability to communicate with the Purrgills nothing outstanding happened this week. Textually the characters were sharp as always and the color and setting was very well done.
