Finally, Six has his day. The latest episode of Dark Matter gave us a long awaited peek into Six’s back story and it was nothing short of awesome. Well worth the wait. Plus, One and Two have “the talk” and Five goes under an experimental mind probe in search of information on “Episode 6” of Dark Matter. Spoiler alert.
Love is in the air! Well, sort of. For weeks now, the writers on Dark Matter have been toying with us about One and Two’s relationship status, and this week we finally came closer to finding out just where they stand with each other, which is perfect timing given Two’s hookup with Three last week. Could you blame One for wanting to discuss that?
When One caught up with Two they were finally able to have a long overdue conversation about their feelings for each other. Woohoo! But wait, don’t get too excited just yet, Two basically told One that she isn’t ready for a serious relationship right now, all the while explaining away her casual hookup with Three. Apparently, Two only slept with Three because he was “just there,” and anything with anyone else (namely One) would just lead to complications. Good one, Two. One bought it, so I guess that’s all that matters…for now. For the record, was that an apology or a lame justification for not hooking up with One? I’m just asking. No judgment.
One of the best parts about Five’s memory trip while under the mind probe was the fact that we got to learn a little bit about her back story. We all know that she’s a wunderkind, but apparently she’s also got a knack for pick pocketing. But then again, what else is a band of kids to do to survive when they’re basically homeless? Too bad for her, she pick pocketed the wrong guy and ended up getting all her friends killed. Except for one, TJ, who was shot in the abdomen. TJ, remember is the one who’s body Five found back in episode 2, if memory serves me correctly. As it turns out, Five and TJ got on board The Raza to escape potential harm, but TJ ended up dying while waiting for Five to get medicine to treat his bullet wound. We also got confirmation that Three was apparently a jerkass in the past as well, as evidenced by him throwing Five into the air lock after finding her on The Raza.
This week on Dark Matter, the cliffhanger revolved around Six. I warned you that this week Six had his day—or at least more on screen time—and a cliffhanger centered around his character was just the icing on that cake. After Five came by his quarters to both thank him and confess to him that he was the only person that she trusts in the crew, Six accessed the a news report on his computer discussing the potential whereabouts of a man named “The General,” who just so happens to be his former employer.
Does this mean that Six is plotting revenge on “The General” since he now remembers having worked for the maniacal terrorist, which resulted in the death of 10,000 people? If he is, he wouldn’t be the only one. We also saw Four’s reaction when Five told him the truth about who really killed his father, the Emperor, and it wasn’t him. Turns out his literal evil stepmother, the Empress, killed the Emperor so that her son, Four’s half brother, could then become the heir to the throne. Don’t you just love family? By the time the entire crew learns about their pasts this is going to be one epic show. Stay tuned.
Dark Matter airs Friday nights at 10:00pm EST on Syfy.
