Recently, Compulsion Games, the team that brought us Contrast, announced We Happy Few.
This extremely creepy game takes place in a retro-futuristic, drug fueled, alternative 1960’s England. This society requires that all it’s inhabitants take their medication, allowing them to remain happy at all times. Those who do not abide by this rule are met with psychotically brutal force.
The colorful palette goes against the grain of most horror games that grace our screens in the present day, and with it’s aesthetic style, We Happy Few, instills a sense of menacing dread. We Happy Few is still in early development, and Compulsion Games plans to show a bit of it off at Pax East in Boston. Those who are lucky enough to visit their booth will not only get play time, but will also have the chance to gain pre-alpha access to the game.
